The Chairman of the Transformation Committee of the Buhari Youths Organization, Ambassador Nurain Mumuni, has commiserated with family members and Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) over the untimely death of Comrade Chuks Ehirim, the immediate past Chairman of the Abuja Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.
A statement signed by Mumuni, described the late Ehirim as a consummate and ethically compliant journalist, with unbridled passion for democratic values and good governance.
‘’Ehirim will be remembered for his patriotic role in the emancipation of Nigerians in the struggle for the enthronement of democratic government, when he worked tirelessly with other democrats and pro democracy groups in Nigeria to disengage the military junta that held Nigerians to ransom under the draconian military government of the late dictator, General Sani Abacha.
“Much as the death of Comrade Chuks Ehirim remains a colossus loss to us; we’re consoled with the fact that his immense contributions to the task of attaining vibrant journalism and enthronement of democracy in Nigeria will remain indelible in our minds. May almighty God give his entire family members and the Nigerian journalists the fortitude to bear the irreparableloss.’’ says the statement.
